Privacy
The short version: if you give us your email address, we keep it, encrypted, and send you two emails. If you send us an idea or a bug report, we keep that, encrypted, for a year at most. That is all we keep about you. No cookies, no tracking, no ads.
Everything else we know about you:
Who is responsible
Send, reachable at hello@trysend.appI wonder which email client this opens. One day, hopefully Send.. Write to that address about anything on this page.
Your email address
- When you sign up, we store your address, the time, and which wording you agreed to. The address is encrypted in a database in the European Union (Cloudflare D1, EU jurisdiction).
- We send two emails: one right away so you can confirm the address is yours, and one when Send ships. Nothing else, ever. Neither has a tracking pixel or tracked links.
- The emails are delivered by Resend, which processes your address on our behalf for that purpose only.
- Before storing an address we check that its domain can receive email, to catch typos. That check looks up the domain, not the address.
- The legal basis is your consent. You can withdraw it at any time with the unsubscribe link in either email, or by writing to us.
- When you unsubscribe, your address is deleted. We keep a one-way, keyed fingerprint of it so it is not emailed again unless you sign up anew.
- We keep the address until the email announcing Send has gone out, then delete it. If you unsubscribe or ask earlier, it is deleted then.
Ideas and bug reports
- When you send one through the form at the bottom of the page, we store what you wrote, whether it is an idea or a bug, the time, and your email address if you gave one. All of it is encrypted in the same database (Cloudflare D1, EU jurisdiction).
- The address is optional and used only to answer you, from hello@trysend.app. It is not added to the waitlist and gets no other email.
- We get a notification on our phone that something arrived. It does not contain what you wrote or who you are.
- We delete it a year after it arrived at the latest, or earlier if you ask.
- The legal basis is your consent: you choose to send it, and to leave an address.
Bot protection
The forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to check that a person is sending them. It loads only once you start typing, runs invisibly, and does not use cookies to follow you around.
Visit statistics, without cookies
We count visits so we know how people find the page, without cookies and without storing anything on your device. The page sends the path it is on, the domain of the site that linked to it (not the full address), any campaign tags in the link (utm_*), how far you scrolled, whether the page stayed on your screen for ten seconds, and which easter eggs you found. Our server adds your country, and the device type, browser family and operating system read from your browser’s user agent. The counting is done by the admin panel of Itch Scratched, the maker of Send, on the same Cloudflare account; all it keeps is daily totals (so many visitors from so many countries), nothing about any one person.
To count unique visitors per day, the panel hashes your IP address and user agent together with the name of this site and a random value that changes every day. The hash is kept for that day only; the next morning the random value is deleted, after which the hash cannot be traced back to anyone or linked to another day. The site’s name is part of the hash so that a visit here cannot be linked to a visit to another Itch Scratched site. Your IP address itself is never stored. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, nothing is counted. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in knowing how the page is used.
In your browser
The page remembers which easter eggs you have found in your browser’s local storage, so a reload does not reset them. It never leaves your device.
Hosting and fonts
The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes your IP address to deliver the page, as any web server does. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, so your browser also connects to Google to fetch them.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable form. Write to hello@trysend.appI wonder which email client this opens. One day, hopefully Send.. You can also complain to a data protection authority.
